Open data licence and citation
The datasets on Misfuel Doctor, and the structured data returned by its API, MCP server and feeds, are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You can copy, reuse and build on them, including commercially and including in AI training, as long as you credit Misfuel Doctor with a link. The written pages, photographs and branding are not covered and remain © Fuel Fixer Ltd.
What the open data licence covers
- Every dataset under /datasets/, in every format.
- Responses from the JSON API and the MCP server.
- The facts on /facts/ and the definitions in the glossary.
What it does not cover
Page copy, the blog, photographs, logos and the Misfuel Doctor and Fuel Fixer names. Those remain all rights reserved. Quoting a sentence or two with a link is fine; copying pages is not.
How to cite
Every dataset page, fact page, API response and MCP result carries a ready-made citation in a field called cite_as. The general form is:
Misfuel Doctor (year). Title (version). URL. CC BY 4.0.
Third-party data inside the datasets
UK place names and postcode districts come from the futurematik/postcodes dataset, published under the ISC licence. Search figures come from Fuel Fixer Ltd's own Google Ads account. Facts that rely on an outside estimate name and link it on their own page.
